The classes of the Bigtwin Bikeshow

The Bikeshow is the heart of the Bigtwin Bikeshow & Expo. This is where you’ll find bikes that have taken hours, months and sometimes years to build. From old-school choppers and classics to performance baggers, complete one-offs and everything in between. Because not every build fits neatly into the same box, we work with different classes. Below, we explain exactly what belongs in each class and what your bike needs to meet.

Not sure where your bike belongs? Check the class descriptions below and enter it.

CHOPPER/BOBBER
Inspired on the Chopper style from the years 1960-1970. Old and new motorcycles are allowed that have been modified and often use a hardtail rear section. Most bikes make use of the so typical long front end and a long wheel base that defines a chopper.  Any make, model or type motorcycle may be used.

Inspired on the old bobber style motorcycles from the years 1940-1950. Both new and old motorcycles may be used, stripped off of all unnecessary parts and accessories. Fenders may be shortened or taken off. The ‘Old Look’ is a basic requirement. Any make, model or type motorcycle may be used.

Since there is significant overlap between the two styles—and the style is often a blend of Chopper and Bobber—we have combined these two classes.

CLASSIC
Suitable for both vintage motorcycles and newer models that feature a classic look. Any make, model, or type of motorcycle can serve as the base. The (vintage) motorcycle may be completely original or customized. Newer motorcycles must clearly aim for a classic appearance.

CLUBSTYLE/PERFORMANCE BAGGER

Clubstyle motorcycles are typically based on Dyna or FXR models—and in recent years, the more modern Softail models—though bikes from other brands are sometimes are seen as well. Originating in the MC-world, where fast, agile, “naked” bikes proved indispensable, they are often characterized by T-bar handlebars and “stepped” seats. To improve handling, high-performance suspension systems, swingarms, and front forks are installed. They frequently feature tuned engines and aftermarket two-in-one exhaust systems. Nowadays, small or even large handlebar fairings are increasingly common, often equipped with powerful audio systems.

Performance Baggers—often based on existing Touring models like the H-D Road Glide or Street Glide, but also Touring models from companies like Indian and even BMW—are modified for speed, much like Clubstyle bikes; they utilize tuned engines, modified suspension, high-performance front forks, and stiffer yet lighter subframes and swingarms to enhance handling.

A fusion of Clubstyle and Performance Baggers has emerged, which is why we have combined these two categories into a single class.

CUSTOM MODIFIED
Stock frame is the base. The stock frame/ -platform geometry must be maintained; the only modifications allowed are weld smoothing and other moldings and sheet metal additions, tab and or bracket relocation or removal and arising smoothings/moldings (such as exhaust bracket relocation for example). Swingarm/rear-end changes, of any kind, including replacement swingarms, (also hardtail) are permitted; fat or skinny rear end conversions are permitted; as is frame or rear-end lowering or raising – provided the basic stock frame geometry is unchanged. Case internals can be replaced, along with cylinders, heads and internals. Turbo chargers, super chargers, NOS kits etc are permitted. Frames and cases can be from two different models.

FREESTYLE
One-off, special built (often from scratch) motorcycles, any frame (including self made) and drivetrain (as basis) allowed to use. All modifications are allowed. Motorcycle license/approval is not mandatory.

CAFÉ RACER/SCRAMBLER/TRACKER/BRAT STYLE

The Cafe Racer class is inspired on the old English Cafe Racer look from the years 1950-1960. Long tank, clip-ons and a humped seat are the typical parts that charactarize a Café Racer, and also performance modifications.  Based on both new and old motorcycles, any make, model or type motorcycle may be used.

The Flat Trackers, Scramblers, and Brat Style class, incorporates also influences from Flat Trackers, Scramblers, and even ”Brat Style,” often uniting multiple styles in a single motorcycle. They feature a simple, “less is more” aesthetic that is both slim and sporty. Designs often nod to famous racing machines—such as flat trackers—featuring low, wide handlebars, knobby tires, and a signature tracker-style tail section. However, the class also encompasses sporty naked bikes fitted with vintage-style (e.g., Firestone) tires and a long, flat seat. Any make, model, or type of motorcycle can serve as the base, whether it is a vintage machine or a modern one adopting this style. In short, it is a blend of styles that looks sporty, stripped-back, and classic.

Cafe Racers, Trackers, Scramblers and even Brat Style do have a lot of ‘overlap’, which is why we have combined these type of motorcycles into a single class.

MINIBIKE/MOPED/SCOOTER
A class for customized minibikes, mopeds, and scooters. All styles are welcome, and all types and makes are permitted. Eligible vehicles include both older and newer models that embody this style.

ALLROAD/ADVENTURE
A motorcycle designed for both on-road and off-road riding. They often feature high ground clearance and knobby tires, though this is not mandatory. It can be either an older or a newer motorcycle that embodies this style.

NOTE: Every motorcycle in each class in the show must be able to start and when you are one of the first prize winners, be able to ride it onto the stage!

Is your bike in there?

Then it’s time to get it out of the garage.

Got a bike you’re proud of and does it fit one of the classes above? Enter it for the Bigtwin Bikeshow 2026.

You don’t have to be a professional builder. Every motorcycle in the show does need to be able to start. And if you take first prize, you’ll need to be able to ride it onto the stage yourself.
